Marking of Oriental scores
The accuracy of the positions results from the accuracy of the intervals of the G System.
See the tables of the main Arabic and Byzantine tonalities on pages 96 to 102 of the French book.
As for Western music, the expressivity of the positions constitutes
a valuable aid to the just intonation.
Depending on the key, some notes of the score are marked (surrounded or surmounted) with one or the other of the figures in the table below. Thus, the position of each note, marked or unmarked, of the scale in question is indicated precisely.
N.B. – An unmarked note is associated with a neutral expressiveness.
